Branch 20 Releases Rare Polish-Canadian Archival Film from 1966
Film release marks the latest phase of SPK Branch 20’s ongoing archives digitization project

SPK Branch 20 is continuing its efforts to preserve and share Polish-Canadian history with the release of the first film from our archival digitization project. Shot in colour on 8mm film stock in 1966, Nasz Dorobek (Our Legacy) offers a remarkable 11-minute glimpse into the life and activities of Branch 20 in Toronto six decades ago.
The footage captures a broad cross-section of the organization’s activities, from the work of the Board of Directors, library, and Combatants’ Credit Union to a gathering of harcerki (Polish Girl Scouts), socializing and dancing at the club bar, and the invaluable, often behind-the-scenes contributions of the ladies’ auxiliary.
Together, these scenes offer a vivid reminder of the dedication, camaraderie, and civic spirit of the Polish veterans who built our organization and helped shape Polish-Canadian community life for generations.
The film’s release marks another milestone in Branch 20’s ongoing efforts to preserve our fragile archival collections and make them accessible to new audiences. In the coming weeks, we look forward to sharing more digitized archival films through our website and social media channels.
We invite you to watch Nasz Dorobek below.
