Are you of Polish background? Interested in helping honour the history of our veterans, and promoting Polish culture and language? We invite you to join the SPK and become an active member. Email us today at members@spk20.ca.

For over 75 years, SPK Branch 20 has been a central part of Toronto’s Polish-Canadian community.

Our founding SPK members were veterans of the First and Second World Wars dedicated to fighting for a free and independent Poland. At the same time, they were proud Canadians and played a significant role in building the economic, social, and political fabric of Polonia and our city. Today, SPK is committed to honouring the memory of our veterans and upholding their legacy.

Branch 20 hosts social events throughout the year, and we mark Polish and military holidays such as May 3rd Constitution Day, Soldiers’ Day in August, the annual Warriors’ Day Parade at the CNE, and our traditional Christmas Opłatek to begin the year.

There are lots of opportunities to help out around SPK, including:

  • Administrative support, including for hall rental bookings
  • Membership outreach and recruitment
  • Event planning and management
  • Assist with museum curation and digitization of the branch’s archives
  • Outreach to sister Polish-Canadian organizations and other stakeholders
  • Building upkeep and renovations
  • Food preparation and serving
  • Bartending at SPK functions
  • The list goes on!
